The 2017 Honda Ridgeline: True Truck or Flop?

By  |

Hearing the words Honda and truck used together seems a bit of an oddity, but the Ridgeline tries to address this with its 2017 model.

The original versions of the Ridgeline were not in the same league as its competition, but with upgraded design, the 2017 model hopes to address all these factors.
The 2017 model will have a 3.5 L V6 with 280 hp linked to a six speed automatic transmission.
At this stage the truck will be front wheel drive, which won’t be the most popular with traditional truck buyers, but with things like an in-bed trunk and Honda’s reliability, we guess traditional Honda buyers may look at these in a different light.

Its sure to feature a few electronic gadgets inside like Apples car play and 8 inch touchscreen display, but without turbochargers or diesel powertrains, we are not sure how the traditional truck buyer will view this ultimately.
Probably, the Ridgeline would fit well as a sports utility truck or alternative to Sedan.
