Five Convertibles SUVs: The New All Rounders?

By  |

SUV’s are slowly becoming all things to all men.
From the most basic to the most luxurious, to the glorified people carrier to a true off-road, there is something for everybody.
But you would be forgiven for thinking an SUV couldn’t be a convertible.

Below are 5 convertible SUV offerings which you may want to consider if you wanted to go down this route.

Jeep Wrangler
This seems an obvious choice, but the Jeep Wrangler has really always been a convertible, it’s just now been given the label.
A go anywhere vehicle with a soft top. Probably as ubiquitous and cool as you can get for a convertible SUV.

Range Rover Evoque
Possible the first luxurious convertible SUV to hold a place in the market which no other vehicle holds.
You can’t argue with Range Rover’s go anywhere ability and ruggedness. The Evoque has the same qualities but now in a convertible format.

Nissan Murano
The Murano still looks a bit of an oddity but if you want an open topped SUV experience without breaking the bank, the Murano may be one to look at.

Suzuki X90
With a short run from 1995 to 1997, the T roof made it more of a crossover with odd looks, but still gave you open top driving.

Toyota RAV4
The RAV4 sold especially well in Europe due to its compact SUV features and its later cabriolet editions.
Turning the original hardtop into a soft top was a complex affair, but it did turn a small SUV into a slightly cooler open topped all-rounder.
