GM Recognizes Electric Future But Focuses on Pickups, SUV

Right now, GM sees the possibility of the electric vehicles but focuses on trucks and SUV’s since they are driving more profits. US citizen are paying $45,000-$80,000 for these kind of vehicles.

GM wants to pursue on the electric vehicles but there are far more greater possibilities of earning with the SUV, pickups and trucks.

“GM will take a leading role in the auto industry’s transformation as it undergoes an unprecedented period of change,” said Bob Ferguson, GM senior vice president for global public policy, said in the report.

Now that the gas prices are lower and have much more stronger consumer confidence have achieved higher fuel economy.

“The challenge is compounded even more in markets outside the U.S., where mandates and regulations can be as stringent as those in the U.S. or Europe, but average incomes are significantly lower,” GM states in the report.
