The Jeep Trackhawk, The Best SUV Ever?

It would have been insane only a few years ago to think that Dodge would stuff a Hellcat 77HP V8 engine into a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but now the dream has become a reality. In the flesh this is a meaty offering with power and practicality in one package.

The driving ability is more or less the same as the SRT8 Grand Cherokee which comes with a 6.4 liter V8 at 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, with a curb weight of 5000 pounds, it can still do 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. Pretty good by anybody’s standards, but the Trackhawk more than betters these figures.

The Jeep Trackhawk is 259 pounds heavier than the SRT8, 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a quarter-mile time of the 1.6 seconds, making it the fastest SUV around today. With a price target of around $80,000, this is matching it up to some of the more well-known luxury SUV’s, such as the the Tesla Model X especially in performance, but the Trackhawk has much more street credibility for the time being.

The Trackhawk beats the model X in price and may not have a futuristic interior, but its very functional and gets the job done, without being over. Maybe not as luxurious as a BMW or Porsche, but that’s not the point here. Especially with keeping the costs down.

The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has plenty to shout about, and it’s probably only a matter of time before its biggest and fastest crown is taken away, maybe by the likes of Tesla with a superfast Model X, but for the time being the Trackhawk ticks all the boxes for one of the most fantastic SUVs currently around.

Would we ever see a Trackhawk Demon in the future?!?
